London Marathon 2027 Good For Age Opens: Times and Rules
Applications for Good For Age (GFA) entry into the 2027 TCS London Marathon are now open. UK residents who ran a qualifying time on a certified course between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026 have until 16:00 GMT on Thursday 29 October 2026 to apply.
For 2027, the race takes place across two days as part of The Double: men's Good For Age runners will race on Saturday 24 April 2027, while women's Good For Age runners will compete on Sunday 25 April 2027.
What are the 2027 Good For Age qualifying times?
Qualifying standards depend on your age at the time you ran your performance, not your age on marathon day. Qualifying times must have been run at an in-person event with a course certified by UK Athletics (UKA), the Association for International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), or a national governing body.
| Age Category | Men's Standard | Women's Standard | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | 18-39 | sub 2:52:00 | sub 3:38:00 | | 40-44 | sub 2:57:00 | sub 3:43:00 | | 45-49 | sub 3:02:00 | sub 3:46:00 | | 50-54 | sub 3:07:00 | sub 3:53:00 | | 55-59 | sub 3:12:00 | sub 3:58:00 | | 60-64 | sub 3:34:00 | sub 4:23:00 | | 65-69 | sub 3:52:00 | sub 4:53:00 | | 70-74 | sub 4:52:00 | sub 5:53:00 | | 75-79 | sub 5:07:00 | sub 6:13:00 | | 80-84 | sub 5:27:00 | sub 6:38:00 | | 85-89 | sub 6:10:00 | sub 7:10:00 | | 90+ | sub 7:20:00 | sub 7:45:00 |
Runners who achieved their qualifying time at the virtual TCS London Marathon MyWay can also apply, provided they also submit proof of an in-person half marathon run on a certified course within the qualifying window meeting the designated GFA half marathon standards.
Does meeting the standard guarantee a place?
No. Achieving the standard only gives you the right to submit an application. Total Good For Age entries for 2027 remain capped at 6,000 places, divided equally into 3,000 spots for men and 3,000 spots for women. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the cap, places are awarded on a fastest-first basis relative to age and qualifying time.
After applications close on 29 October, London Marathon Events will review all submissions, and successful runners will receive an invitation to finalize their race registration.
What proof is required to apply?
To complete an application, you must supply three forms of verification:
* Proof of performance: A direct link to an official results webpage clearly displaying your name, the event date, and your finish time. * Proof of age: A copy of either your passport or UK driving licence. * Proof of UK residence: An official document proving residence in the United Kingdom, such as a utility bill dated within the last three months or a copy of your driving licence.
Good For Age places cannot be deferred to future editions, except in cases of pregnancy or postpartum.
You can track race-day logistics and compare qualifying criteria on the London Marathon page.
