Marathon Ballot is a small, independently run project. This page explains what we collect, why, and who else touches it. If anything here is unclear, email art@marathonballot.com and we'll answer directly.
What we collect
For free and Radar email alerts: your email address, the races you choose to track, and which alert types you opt into. Name is optional.
For Station accounts: the same, plus whatever you choose to enter to power the app, marathon personal best, date of birth, gender, and which Majors you've finished or are pursuing. All of it is optional and only used to calculate your own qualifying gap and dashboard.
For Pro/Station subscriptions: billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep your Stripe customer ID so the billing portal link works.
We also collect basic technical data automatically: pages viewed, approximate location (country/region level), device type, and referrer, through the analytics tools listed below.
Who processes it
- Resend, sends the alert and account emails.
- Stripe, processes Radar/Station payments and billing.
- Neon, hosts the Postgres database your account data lives in.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, checks that signups aren't bots.
- Vercel, hosts the site and provides privacy-friendly page-view analytics.
- Microsoft Clarity, provides aggregate usage analytics (which pages get used, where people click).
None of these get your data for their own marketing. We don't sell data to anyone, ever.
Cookies and local storage
We use local storage (not tracking cookies) to remember your theme (light/dark) and unit preference (km/mi). Station uses a single session cookie to keep you signed in, nothing else.
Your choices
Every alert email has an unsubscribe link that works instantly, no login required. To delete your account and all associated data, email art@marathonballot.com and we'll remove it within a few days. To cancel a paid subscription, use "Manage billing" in the footer of any page.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will move and, for material changes, we'll say so in the next alert email.
