London Marathon MyWay 2027: Dates, Cost, and Entry Rules

The TCS London Marathon MyWay offers runners around the world a direct route to complete the official 26.2-mile distance virtually. Organized by London Marathon Events, the virtual edition allows participants to earn an official London Marathon medal and finisher t-shirt from wherever they choose on race weekend.

With the 2027 in-person TCS London Marathon expanding into a historic two-day Double format on Saturday 24 April and Sunday 25 April, the virtual MyWay event mirrors that expansion with flexible weekend options.

When does the 2027 London Marathon MyWay take place?

Participants can choose to complete their 26.2 miles on either Saturday 24 April or Sunday 25 April 2027. Each event day begins at 00:00:00 and finishes at 23:59:59 local time, giving runners a full 24-hour window on their chosen day.

Registration is completed online via Let's Do This, where runners select their preferred day. For those seeking an extra challenge, organizers allow participants to register for both days separately to complete a personal MyWay Double challenge.

How much does entry cost, and who is eligible?

Entry to the virtual event is open to participants globally without ballot restrictions or qualifying time cutoffs. The entry fees are:

* UK participants: £40 * International participants: £55

Registration includes access to the official tracking app, an optional finisher t-shirt and medal, an option to plant a tree through Trees Not Tees, and a free trial with Coopah, the event's official training app.

Can you run on a treadmill or indoors?

No. Official rules specify that the entire 26.2-mile distance must be completed outdoors. Running indoors, including using a treadmill, is strictly prohibited under event regulations. Participants are free to choose any outdoor course, whether navigating local parks, streets, or trails.

What if you need accommodations for time or religious reasons?

If you cannot complete the 26.2 miles within the 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 window on either race day due to religious observances or because you have a disability requiring more time, London Marathon Events accommodates alternate schedules.

Runners requiring these arrangements must contact the customer engagement team in advance. Because tracking via the TCS London Marathon App operates only during the official weekend hours, participants approved for extended or alternative timing submit their finish evidence manually.

Can you run both the in-person London Marathon and MyWay?

Yes. Runners who hold a place in the mass in-person London Marathon can also participate in the virtual MyWay event on the opposite day of the Double weekend. Each entry must be registered and paid for separately. Runners completing MyWay on either day receive the same official medal design.
