Tokyo Marathon 2027 Bib Pickup: Dates, Hours, and Rules
If you secured a spot for the Tokyo Marathon on Sunday, March 7, 2027, collecting your official athlete bib before race morning is mandatory. The Tokyo Marathon Foundation requires every general participant to register in person at the Tokyo Marathon EXPO 2027.
There is no bib distribution or packet pickup on race day. Understanding the schedule, venue details, and verification rules ensures a smooth trip through registration.
Where and when is Tokyo Marathon packet pickup?
Packet pickup takes place at Tokyo Big Sight in the South Exhibition Halls:
Tokyo Big Sight South Exhibition Halls 3-11-1 Ariake, Koto, Tokyo, Japan
Registration and bib pickup hours operate across three days leading up to the race (all times Japan Standard Time):
- Thursday, March 4, 2027: 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Friday, March 5, 2027: 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Saturday, March 6, 2027: 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Tokyo Marathon EXPO hours run until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday (visitors must enter before 8:30 p.m.) and until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday (visitors must enter before 5:30 p.m.).
For athletes competing in the wheelchair division, race organizers notify participants of a separate pickup procedure and venue directly.
What documents do you need to pick up your bib?
To collect your athlete bib and race packet, you must present two specific items at the verification desk:
1. Athlete Bib Exchange Voucher: Downloaded directly from your personal "My Entry" portal on the official website. The organizer does not email or mail paper exchange vouchers. 2. Valid Photo ID: A passport is required for personal identity verification. Runners who registered through the overseas entry portal may also be asked to present documentation proving that they live outside Japan.
Unlike during earlier event editions, the Tokyo Marathon Foundation confirmed there are no plans to implement a health-management app for the 2027 race.
Can someone else pick up your packet?
No. The Tokyo Marathon strictly prohibits proxy pickup. Every runner must attend packet pickup in person during official operating hours to complete personal verification.
Race organizers do not permit substitute runners under any circumstances. Anyone attempting to run under a false name or transferring their entry to another person will be disqualified from the event.
Plan your arrival in Tokyo with enough buffer to reach Tokyo Big Sight before packet pickup closes on Saturday afternoon. Check start locations, cutoff schedules, and course details on our Tokyo Marathon page.
