The draw date is when the race organizer notifies applicants of their ballot result. For the 2027 TCS London Marathon the ballot closed May 1, 2026 and the draw landed July 9, 2026, with results emailed by early July. Not every Major publishes a single draw date this far out, and Boston has none at all since it runs no ballot.
Seven of the 8 Majors run a lottery or ballot for general entry: Tokyo, London, Sydney, Berlin, Chicago, New York and Cape Town, each alongside faster qualifying-time and charity routes. Boston is the only Major that is qualifier only, there is no ballot or lottery, you earn your bib with a certified qualifying time.
The 2027 Tokyo Marathon general entry ballot opens August 14, 2026 and closes August 28, 2026, with the draw on September 30, 2026. Race day is March 7, 2027.
