Berlin Marathon 2026 Bib Pickup: Dates, Hours, and Rules
If you are running the 2026 BMW Berlin Marathon on Sunday, September 27, 2026, picking up your race materials is your mandatory first step during race week. All participants must collect their race materials in person at the MARATHON EXPO by BRITA at Tempelhof Airport.
SCC Events strictly requires personal collection without exception. There is no postal delivery of race materials, and another person cannot pick up your items, not even with a power of attorney.
Where and when is Berlin Marathon bib pickup?
Race material pick-up takes place exclusively at the MARATHON EXPO by BRITA, located at:
Tempelhof Airport Platz der Luftbrücke 5 12101 Berlin
The operating hours for race material pickup are:
- Thursday, September 24, 2026: 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday, September 25, 2026: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Saturday, September 26, 2026: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
*Note for inline skaters:* A race material pick up on Saturday is not possible for skaters.
To avoid long waiting times, organizers run a system for reserving time slots. Until September 21st, you have the option to reserve or change a slot via your user account under "My registrations" by clicking on the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2026 event tile. Organizers recommend picking up materials on Thursday or Friday morning if possible, as Friday afternoon and Saturday can become very crowded.
What documents do you need to bring?
To collect your race materials, you must present two items:
1. Your Start Card: Sent via email 7 to 10 days before the event and available as a download in your user account. 2. Your Photo Document: An identity card, passport, or driver's license.
If you booked extras such as a clothing bag, merchandise, or the adidas event T-shirt, you will receive them at the expo. The products and services you ordered are printed directly on your race number.
Wristband and bib rules
Your athlete wristband will be placed on you at the entrance to the race material pick-up. You must not remove the wristband under any circumstances, as entry to the start area will only be granted with a participation wristband.
Your personal bib number includes a MIKA TAG transponder on the back for timekeeping. In order to guarantee timekeeping, the transponder must not be bent. The start number is personal and may not be changed or passed on to another person.
Expo baggage rules
The permitted bag size corresponds to the hand luggage size in an airplane: maximum 55 x 40 x 25 cm. Larger bags are not allowed on the expo grounds, but can be deposited at the baggage deposit for a fee. Pets are not allowed on the expo grounds.
