Chicago Marathon 2027 Application Closed: What Is Still Open
The application for guaranteed and non-guaranteed entry to the 2027 Bank of America Chicago Marathon closed at 2 p.m. U.S. Central Time on Thursday, October 29, 2026. The race is on Sunday, October 10, 2027. If you missed the window, the official routes left are charity teams and, from Tuesday, December 8, tour operators.
When do drawing results come out?
Non-guaranteed applicants are notified by email of their entry status on Tuesday, December 8, 2026. Selected applicants must pay the entry fee and complete registration by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, December 15, or they will not be registered. The deadline to withdraw an application is 5 p.m. Central Time on Monday, December 7.
Approved guaranteed entry applicants, such as time qualifiers and legacy finishers, must pay by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, November 10. The event says verifying a guaranteed application can take up to 10 business days.
Can you still get in?
- Charity: entries are first come, first served until September 10, 2027 or until a charity reaches capacity. Runners must raise at least $2,500 (USD), and the charity entry fee is $325 for U.S. residents and $335 for non-U.S. residents.
- Tour operators: entries through official tour operators are available from Tuesday, December 8, and the event says that application stays open through Tuesday, August 10, 2027. Only operators in the official Tour Operator Program have guaranteed entries.
- High Performance Program: it has reached its capacity of 300 and is closed. See the program details.
Applicants who are not selected in the drawing can still register through official charities or tour operators. The event warns against organizations that claim to have entries but are not listed as official partners.
All 2027 dates are on the Chicago Marathon race page.
