Sydney Marathon 2027 Ballot Results Date Set for November 3
Official organizers have confirmed key dates and procedures for the 2027 Sydney Marathon general ballot. Successful and unsuccessful entrants will learn their status on November 3, 2026, when selection emails go out and accepted runners' payment cards are automatically billed.
Here is the official timeline and what runners need to know before registration opens.
2027 Sydney Marathon Ballot Dates
The TCS Sydney Marathon is scheduled to run on Sunday, August 29, 2027. The general application period runs over three weeks:
* Ballot opens: September 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM AEST * Ballot closes: October 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM AEDT * Results and card charges: November 3, 2026
Submitting an application early provides no statistical advantage. Every submission entered during the open period receives equal weight in the random draw.
Entry Fees and Automatic Billing
Entering the general ballot is free. Payment details are collected during registration, and cards are charged automatically only if an application is selected on November 3, 2026:
* Domestic entry: AUD 280 * International entry: AUD 330
Unsuccessful applicants will not be charged. Their notification emails on November 3, 2026, will outline secondary access routes, including official charity programs and authorized travel packages.
Organizers ask all applicants to check their junk or spam folders and wait before inquiring about missing results. Runners should contact event support regarding draw status only if they have received no correspondence after November 6, 2026.
Non-Standard Registrations
The public ballot handles solo standard entries. Non-elite racing wheelchairs and duo teams do not register through the general draw and must follow a separate application process.
To ensure you do not miss key registration milestones for Sydney and the other World Marathon Majors, you can set up free alerts to receive opening warnings, closing reminders, and race-week checklists.
